How it started
I am sometimes asked how I started playing the violin.
My original profession is metalworking and the production of metalworking tools. My father-in-law once asked me to fix his violin and I liked working with wood. Subsequently, I started looking around and learning, looking for material, tools, and in 1993 I started making my first instrument. Of course, it didn't stop there. Repairs of guitars, cellos, and double basses have arrived. I repair about 15 slugs every month.
So far I have made 24 violins of my own. Of them, 2 sound in Japan, the others in Slovakia. I have them all sold at the moment. I will make a new one with details on request within 3 months. I have material from 5 to 30 years old for about 65 tools in stock. If you have your own idea of a specific material combination for your future instrument, there is plenty to choose from.
